The history of revolution is as old as humanity; yet it is only since the invention of photography that we have
been able to discern the realities of these conflicts from the distance of time. Starting with the most recent tri-
umphs and tragedies of the Arab Spring and ending with the Hungarian uprising in 1956, this book brings
together almost thirty revolutions documented by forty photographers in hundreds of color and black-and-
white images that depict historic events from a human perspective.
